What's your retirement plan?
Directed by Jonathan Fahn.
Produced and Written by Jonathan Fahn & Tom Fahn. Based on their Original Feature Screenplay.
John Saxon (Enter The Dragon, The Electric Horseman, A Nightmare On Elm Street), Basil Hoffman (All The President's Men, Ordinary People, My Favorite Year), and Larry Gelman (Mr. Saturday Night, The Frisco Kid, The Odd Couple) play three guys in their seventies who reclaim their vitality when mistakenly picking- up a bag full of cocaine puts them between the cops and the mob.
Phil LaMarr (Pulp Fiction, Mad TV, Family Guy) also stars as a low-level mob boss who tries to take the merchandise from them. Film deals with the misconceptions of ageism in both directions. The four recognizable leads have hundreds of film/television appearances between them working with the likes of Robert Redford, Marlon Brando, Quentin Tarantino, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, and many others.
It's "The Hangover meets Grumpy Old Men"...

(Best Actress & Grand Jury Prizes, NY Indie Film Fest; Best Short Film, Chichester UK Film Festival ). This is his first collaboration with his brother, Tom.
Tom Fahn (Writer/Producer): Has worked for many years as an actor/writer in TV, film, voice-over, theatre, and stand-up comedy. Recent credits include "Watchman: The End Is Nigh", "Ice Age: The Meltdown", and a national Lowes commercial with a very big bear. This is his first collaboration with his brother, Jonathan.
Director's Statement:
For years I've listened to my parents and their friends bitch about their age. In such a teen obsessed culture, people of this "older" generation in our country have felt left out by the mass media. I've always thought it strange considering that the over 55 set is the largest group of people in our nation. No one seems to be writing anything for them anymore.
That generation is also not as "retired" as they would like to be. One of the things my brother and I have overheard our father say is that he'd wish he "could just knock over a bank." Sure, he could use the money. But he's just plain bored of it all. He wants to matter again and continue to carve out his own destiny.
My brother and I thought about this premise and wondered what would happen to three guys in their 70's if a bowling bag full of cocaine just fell into their laps. Would they turn it over to the cops? Would they use it? Or maybe they just might try to find out what it's worth. That's at the core of "Old Dogs". Finding out not just what the bag of coke is worth, but what they are still worth.
And in doing so, becoming vital again.
Fun film. Nice to see John Saxon in something. As always in Fahn Films: Great production values. I'd love to see J. Fahn get some big league recognition (aka big bucks.)

Wow, just fab! Professional film-making at its finest. Suave L.A. noir with more heart than Cocoon and even a soupçon of Risky Business, with an ensemble cast that's a dream to watch. I bet Fahn Field Films fashions a fun fantastic feature outta this! Kudos, Fahns!
