  • I'm doing radiography for the Navy in California... Any reason why you wouldn't mark on the medial side? The way we were taught with regards to the hand and wrist shots, the marker always goes to the thumb side.

  • I think it's just preference really. We were taught to do it on the lateral side because that's how the rads read them where we were.

  • i have to disagree with 10x12 on a lateral wrist, you can do it with an 8x10 crosswise.

  • You are correct; however I have only been to one clinical site during my college career that still had 8x10 cassettes. Most hospitals with CR equipment have conformed to 10x12 and 14x17 cassettes. DR equipment doesn't use cassettes at all, so this would not even be an option.

  • Some constructive criticism, if you collimate side to side tighter(without chopping of the area under examination)you get a better detailed radiograph as scatter is greatly reduced.
