I wished i had of got the chance to see her sailing on the open waters, what a beautifull Boat. Love goes out to all the Families who's loved one's where lost they won't be forgotten

My Dad was part of the launch team that day.

The ship was gonna sink every one knew it it took them 3 times to break the champagne bottle there was a heart attack and the ship hit the wall

The Edmund Fitsgerald was built in River Rouge, Mi at the Great Lakes Engineering Works, located at the foot of Great lakes Ave. and launched in 1958. My father took al of us there and it made quiet an impression on this 8 year old kid. A big beautiful ship.

I wonder if thats the nicholson terminal in ecorse? It looks like the docks that are off of great lakes drive.

No Ecorse, Michigan. Great Lakes Shipbuilding, not AmShip.
My dad was there.
