This has to be one of the most doom-filled intros ever, it's imagery conveys the picture of a monster creeping behind you or the feelings as your soul leaves your body after death only to descend into hell.

I think the title is a joke that the vocalist is black, get it? "Descent"? Giving a double meaning that it's both the intro of the album and he is of African-American descent.
