Various stones and things I've wrapped from all over the world. Interesting shaped objects that are unusual, and beautiful.

  • wow...fabulous looking pieces...

  • @EdmundoMD Thanks for you encouragement, its good to know what others think about the work as I am sort of in my own little world doing this,

    Best wishes,

    Don

  • Thanks for that, it 's given me some great ideas. Love what you're doing

  • @danielson310371

    Thanks, I'm glad its helpful.

  • I really like your work it is unusual it appears very well thought out. Do you spend a lot of time on each piece? It has sort of a Lynn Merchant look to it.

Keep up the good work :)

  • @sipalred Thanks, as a matter of fact, I DID look very closely at her work, I had the opportunity to look closely at her work and then tried to learn from what I saw of her work.

She is sort of a "goddess" of wire wrapping :)

    Best wishes to you

  • @1955thekeeper I enjoy wire work and Macrame. Recently got into Steampunk and Kumi Braiding in a big way. I like wacky designs using a wide range of techniques, I don't do common designs, I'll rather stand out from the crowd, which is why I don't like high street jewellery. PS: Sorry for late response, been so busy creating my spring collection.

  • @missanna208802 Hi, I understand what you are saying here. About the Mayan piece, it was a piece that belonged to a family, that was handed down from generation to generation. This family is native to that part of the world, with that Maya in their bloodline.

So it was sort of a family piece, which they asked me to work on for them.

So, that's the story on that piece.

    Best wishes to you.

  • @BanglewoodCrafts Thank you for your feedback...I appreciate it

  • @PaganGlade Thanks very much for your feedback :)

  • @1955thekeeper I'm working on a downloadable video, thanks for your interest, and my slow responses

  • "Keeper" I don't check in here often, its an occasional hobby for me. If I could give some tips, this is what I do1) I SLOWLY build tight little frames that the piece fits into 2) use standard knots, like half hitches, knots you would find on a boat.3) build hooks into the frames to attach wires to, and pull against, I "tie it in" like a load on the top of a car.4) I use my hammer and anvil A LOT... at most bends for strength and a precise look, NOT just a bend.'I hope that helps

  • @beadydani Thanks for your reply and the advise about holding my breath, I won't. What type of jewelry do you enjoy making? I have gone out in so many directions so quickly that I am almost lost. I enjoy the creative aspect of this craft so much that I to try to do a little bit of everything. Some of the pieces I make look pretty good, at least the people I make them for seem to think. Happy New Year, 2012.
