Opposition's Lying Ad

An out-of-state group opposed to medical marijuana is airing a television ad attacking the Michigan medical marijuana initiative. This outrageously false ad lies to the public, claiming that every major health organization rejects medical marijuana.

To the contrary, numerous major health organizations support medical marijuana access and even call on the government to change the law and stop arresting medical marijuana patients including the American College of Physicians, American Nurses Association, American Public Health Association, American Academy of HIV Medicine, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Lymphoma Foundation of America, AIDS Action Council, American Academy of HIV Medicine, National Association of People With AIDS, and many others.

The pharmaceutical industry produces dangerous and highly addictive drugs- and people are still fear-mongering about marijuana? I'm a straight A college student, I work with the elderly as a caregiver, and I smoke pot to unwind at the end of the day. It sure beats drinking. It's bad enough that pot's illegal at all. It's obscene that a cancer patient should have to worry about being busted for pot.

prohibiting marijuana pushes it underground - government numbers show more people use and know about marijuana now than before it was prohibited in 1937 - the only reason cartels and gangs can sell it for profit is because since its illegal the price is artificially inflated - if it was legalized the price would go back to normal and would be taxed and decreased the strain on our law enforcement, courts and prisons. the law doesnt actually prevent use/sale/possesion and no one gets ID'ed at sale

@jenn1ifer also the body has body parts meant to take in and utilize cannabinoids- these are your endocannabinoid receptor sites and theyse control EVERYTHING About you from your hieght, to your weight to your reproductive tract, bone marrow density, etc,these same cannabinoids are also found in chocolate - the receptor sites are in between EVERY brain cell and even through out the body. it cant be addictive since there are NO receptor sites int he medulla oblongata or the mesocorticolimbic path

@jenn1ifer marijuanas active ingredients in a more refined form (IE: cannabis oil as made by rick simpson -a nova scotian who single handedly cured MANY people of various diseases including BRAIN CANCER ( a cure - NOT remission) with cannabis oil) are known to CURE CANCER, they work by causing controlled cell suicide in dying/aging/mutated/cancerous cells and promoting the growth of healthy new ones. the government saw this for the first time in 1974, this is DOCUMENTED.

why the need to be stoned at all? It doesn't surprise me that most of the people supporting pot also hold left wing political views. Something about being averse to reality.

Noted pot smoker George Michael admitted that if you have things to do, ie work, mortgage, children ,etc, then you definitely shouldn't touch the stuff. He's quite right.
