OOoooooooohhh Shiiitt!! TeeHeeTeeHeeeeHeeee! Check it out, Ian Maidman is now known as Jennifer Maidman- check the Japansylvian website under the general discussion section. There is a link to his new website, earthmusic, with a picture of him in his new persona of 'Jennifer'. TeeHeeeeee, too funny- No Joke. He is now a tranny, seriously! XoD

Karn would have played this different, he is my fav but you can tell Ian has more of a musical vocabulary. In other words he knows what he is doing and is more versatile where as Mick just had that unique style to himself. Both outstanding bassists. R.I.P. Mick:)

Great song! Love that MR. MICK KARN influence on this track, it would have been a teal treasure seeing him in this performance. By the way the DOLPHIN BROTHERS ROCK!
-
As soon as I head this album.. David Sylvian lifted a lot of Mick Karn sound for this track. Hmmmm.
-
It's a funny thing! I remember ToRn saying that "full two handed tapping was an athletic event HE had no time to train for" yet he taps through out the tune. Hummm

Grazie...

I know this has no relevence to the music, but I have seen some recent pictures and performances of David Torn, and MY GOD what a fat huge old fart he has turned into. 20 years does a lot to a man, and it really makes you think. Not that he looked good in these younger years either, but Christ what a dramatic deterioration!! But no offence!! - he is definately a fine musician! ;) Take it easy!!!

Deep into David's mindscape...

ditto: to it
'Grooves like an orgasm'
-
Ian Maidman killer...
Shame Fripp is not here

WOW
I was waiting for this recording since years.
The show was "Doc" broadcasted every afternoon on Raidue, a programme created by Renzo Arbore.
Thank you for posting it!!!

Ian Maidman on fretless bass.
-
true, but who is he? not trey gun.(new king crimson bass/stick player), not danny thomson (talk talk)?

I simply can't believe how AMAZING this is!!!!
-
Karn and Maidman are both bass geniuses, and this is one of my favourite songs of all time, so thanks to the uploader.
-
The guy is ian maidman. Yes, he plays it very much in a karn manner. (Bassline, slide style and so on) But the soun dis more like palladinp imho.
And yes, great stuff in any way. The whole "band" grooves like one organism.
-
Sorry! My mistake!
He sounds a lot like Mick.
Regardless, great stuff!
-
@debrajallreus: with the notable fact that isnt Mick that plays bass here
-
Sylvian and co. sound better live than most bands do in the studio.
Lovely!
Thanks for posting.
This song is ingrained in my memory: there was one winter we were snowed in, and i put together a six' by five' jigsaw puzzle while listening to Sylvian and sipping Cognac...
It would have been a real drag without Sylvian!

Beyond brilliant! David has to be one the most original artists around. The jazzy, asian influence sounds so amazing!
I especially love Mick Karn on bass...very impressive!!!!
-

David Torn (Guitar) is always great, but I prefer Fripp's playing in this song. It's my all time favorite, thanks for posting!
