A simple oscilloscope radar I've built in Garry's Mod. At the end of the movie I've included the schematics in case you want to built it yourself. If you have given it some nice upgrades, please post a video response!

I forgot to show that the radar can also go in the opposite direction. This is simply done by setting the speed to a negative value.

Here you can find the schematics too:

  • I'm going the "electrician" class in my school. And oscilloscope is an item to check the frequences of the ampere or volt. Can't see how a oscilloscope can be a radar. :o

  • @Trumavarium In a way, what I am doing here, is converting the distance to the objects into 'voltage' and display that on the oscilloscope. The first radars were built using an adapted oscilloscope and I guess they worked on that principle. Not sure, though. But, I have to admit: the name may be wrong. The only thing here that is an oscilloscope, is the display (or at least in Garry's Mod it is called an oscilloscope.)

  • That's nice.

  • Yeah it is either that or my ipod that got a bluetooth radar..

  • I had a look at your schematics and detected a big mistake. If I understand these, you used a timer gate to "feed" the trig gates ! This is a separate value, created by a gate...and not the real one detected by the radar.

You should add a gyroscope to your radar and use the yaw values to "feed" the trig gates. They would give you the correct angles.

    (sorry for the english...)

  • Aw dude couldnt you turn off the truster sound it can get really into yer nerves :P

  • @Trumavarium Maybe this one measures the frequencey of other things, like a sonar.

  • its a game buddy not real electricity
