It ended up being exactly what I thought it was, but somehow it evaded me in the other video :(

  • @xInFaMoUsREMiiX Always someone on the internet trying to offend someone. If you can't use your imagination for as to why someone would need that much then maybe just maybe, google it or ask like ccpcakes did. My setup is gonna have that much because i game a lot and host servers. For instance, 8 gigs of ram on a minecraft server is shit if you actually want full potential/more people on it. 24 would just be heaven.

  • The only reason i can think of for having 24gig of RAM is if you are a nerd in there mums basement

  • @CCPcakes Why not?

  • @MrChiefBlackhawk server and 3d rendering

  • @PainfulOrpheus Ha, yeah. Although the future is leaning more towards cloud computing, where the servers do all the dirty work and send the info back to your device. Could be a nice idea, cloud RAM. Maybe even have a mini-dedicated CloudRAM server in your closet and hook it up to your home network, and your computers won't need RAM anymore. Though we would have to find a way to transfer all the data from the CloudRAM server to your PC's faster then with a CAT cable... Interesting, if you ask me.

  • @CCPcakes Servers and Workstations will definitely need 24GB of RAM.

  • @MrChiefBlackhawk Only people that need that are powerful servers, e.g. A dedicated gaming sever. Or CGI render farm systems.

  • @funnyshitguy lol that was an exaggeration but the amount has doubled every year or two. I remember when 2 gigs was more than enough for xp and that was just like 5-6 years ago now we use 8-16. Sometimes I use 10gigs but I never hit 16. With the technology in gaming doubling every generation I would not doubt that using up to 48gigs by 2020 is acceptable.

  • @PainfulOrpheus 5 years for terabytes of RAM? If anything 50 years.

  • In 5 years we will laugh at these comments about 24 gigs. that will be like pocket change probably when we are using terabytes of ram.
