I've been going to race since 2002 and I have NEVER seen such a problem. We've been stuck in traffic, but we've never gotten to the track late. The addition of all those seats, and no parking to match is incredible, you would think that after all the years of trying to get a Cup date Kentucky would've prepared just a little bettter. It wasn't even the highway, it was all parking when you think about it.
@davedoggette1 --> You're a F**Kin IDIOT ! ! I've been to 26 NASCAR races and NEVER had that kind of problem ... and we did leave plenty early enough and still had to sit in traffic. No matter how early people left, they only had so many parking spots .. which was NOT ENOUGH !! ..YOU FUKIN DUMASS !! U must be Bruton's bitch !
Any true NASCAR fan knows you gotta get to the race early. I went to all 3 races at Kentucky and never had a problem with parking or traffic.Race morning me and my daughter were there at 9 AM, drove right in behind turn 1, tailgated, saw the sites, got some autographs and had a awesome time. The people stuck in traffic deserved to be for thinking they could leave by like 2 or 3 for a 7:30 start. These people obviously have never been to a race before. To totally blame the speedway is stupid.
hopefully they get more parking! This how it was when the race track first open!!! And the govenor needs to widing 35, 127, us 42, 1039, inerstate 71 from the 75& 71 split to louisville!! more hotels in the area could help some of the traffic!!! I had to fight to get to work that night to mcdonalds at loves truck stop. I would like to say come back fans!!! Hopefully its better next year!!!
I went to NHMS this weekend and my friend went to rent a scanner, and RH was out of them. The man said "this is worse than Kentucky". It seems like every aspect of the race even was unexpected as far as the amount of people. Terrible to see something like this, it really mars an inaugural event for a well-deserved track / fans / and SMI
To the people who believe the first statement made, I was there and it was NOT an I-71 problem. It was a Bruton Smith FUBAR problem with no parking, no direction, no food, no handicapped shuttles!
