The next generation satellite finder: Point your iPhone anywhere towards the sky and all the satellite will appear on the live video screen - very surreal and freaky. Now you know which trees will block which satellite. Uses the accelerometer and the compass of the new iPhone 3GS. The compass has a bit of a lag, so when wheeling the phone right/left the satellite belt is shifted with a slight delay but up and down works in real time. Looks a handy app but at the price no one who just wants to use it once for a private setup is going to buy it.

Works very well with iPhone 4. The price it is little high for private use.

Both but with the 3G, you can't move it laterally and you need to enter a reference point, such as a manual compass bearing or an existing satellite position which you know the direction of.
