THIS is the song used in the "Stairway Scene" where the soldiers stop firing when they see the baby.

  • Edgar, I can't believe you think this would ruin anyone's Christmas. Children of Men embodies the very essence of the human triumph against adversity and hope. The ending couldn't have been more in the Christmas spirit.

  • this film is really good i like the way it capters the fear and delivers it to the auidience i gotta admit i started sweating a little in that finally battle scene in the refugee camp lmao 10 outa 10

  • great film

  • hmmm. “He who binds himself to joy/ Does the winged life destroy/ But he who kisses the joy as it flies/ Lives in eternity’s sunrise.” Wm. Blake

  • this song is like the movie - the beauty is in the journey, in the emotion. the various messages it may contain are in the eyes of the beholder, but no one can listen to this and deny the humanity

  • this is so beautiful idk what to say

  • @czajka18 Well just remember my friend, Citizen Kane, Blade Runner, The Dark Knight (Not a perfect example but we all know that The Reader is the inferior movie.), Harold and Maude, 2001, The Wild Bunch and Vertigo are all masterpieces that were overlooked by the academy. Fact of the matter is that some of the strongest and most challenging works of art are the ones that don't get their due until years later. Its all the more reason to value them now.

  • @professionallynasty Really, I couldn't disagree with you more about the ending. This could come from my Catholic background but I saw Children of Men as a film very heavy in religious themes and the idea of hope leading to redemption. I love ambiguity as much as the next guy but to end the film with Theo and Kay stranded on a boat, I thought would have ruined the main themes of such a beautiful movie.

  • I've cried twice while watching that scene.

  • Two words come to mind when I listen to this piece, beautiful agony.

  • i cried at this part very powerful
