I can't believe no one knew this;

The artists that take credit for songs (i.e. Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Adam Lambert, etc.) don't write their own songs. At all.

The producer (with other staff) makes EVERYTHING (from the beat to the vocal melody).

So these artists that people praise have little to do with the actual song-making; the producer just chooses which voice would "suit" the song.
