The award-winning Multistream airseeder is available in seventeen (17) models, in tow-between, tow-behind or drawbar configurations.
The Mulitistream is designed to deliver granular and liquid product and can be split as required. For example, with a four bin model, one of the tanks can be used for liquid nitrogen, one for herbicide, one for granular fertiliser and one for seed.
All tanks are designed for any product.
In operation, using the above example, liquid nitrogen can be deep banded behind the digging blade, pre-emergent herbicides can be applied at the front of the seeding bar and granular fertiliser can be split to provide 'starter fertiliser' with the seed whilst deep banding the balance.
The distance from the seed liquid products are applied can be altered depending on the type of fertiliser used. For example, trials have shown the desirable distance for dispensing liquid nitrogen is about 65mm from the seed.
The metering system is hydraulically controlled with manual override and each bin is equipped with an individual hydramotor.
In the case of liquid, a positive displacement pump is fitted with a corkscrew rotor shaft and stator. Liquid can run through two separate lines, each of which runs to standard non-drip nozzle orifice plates which comes in various sizes to cater for a range of rates, down to 20L/ha.
A manifold is created on the bar from which liquid lines are plumbed from the nozzle bodies to the dispenser tubes. All final delivery hoses are of equal length ensuring liquid product 'switches off' and 'switches on' at the same time.
Standard camlock fittings are used on the fill and empty lines together with an outlet for dispensing liquid for calibration. Calibrating granular fertiliser and seed is achieved via a calibration pod conveniently mounted on the Multistream chassis.
A choice of monitors including the Topcon Eagle, Topcon X20 and Cambut controller suitable for Trimble FM 1000 monitor are offered on models up to 4 tanks.
Granular fertiliser and seed are dispensed in conventional fashion through polyurethane metering wheels and adjustable metering flaps into a single or double shoot-designed air stream.
A high volume turbo fan running at up to 4000rpm is driven by a piston hydramotor. The fan inlet is supplied air which is heated by an oil radiator with an independent relief valve, enabling oil to be returned to the tractor.
Ausplow bench tested several types of fans before choosing the turbo fan and it has proven to be the most efficient design, reducing overall power requirements.
The heavy duty polyethylene tanks are mounted on a double box section chassis and boast Ausplow designed stainless steel lids for easy opening and quick locking. Polyethylene tanks display low surface friction properties and offer excellent product flow to metering bodies.
An electronically engaged 200mm (8") swing away auger is fitted to all models from 6000lt to 12000lt. A 250mm (10") auger is fitted to all models from 14000lt to 28000lt.
