you stating a wrong example, there was Chaldeans before joining the Vatican. Chaldeans belonged to the Chruch of the East when they joined Rome the church was called "Chaldean Church" to distinguish it from the 'Church of the East', that is the Church NOT the people, 'Modern Assyrians' were given this name by the English less than 200years ago.
