Robert Penn productions happily documented the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Evidence, A Dance Company on February 8. Victoria Rowell hosted the star-studded event in the ballroom of New York City's Plaza Hotel. The Silver Ball feted Founder and Artistic Director Ronald K. Brown and Chair of the Board of Directors Reginald van Lee. The evening featured scheduled performances by Evidence, A Dance Company and Jennifer Holliday, as well as, two last minute turns. First, Brown performed an excerpt from his 2005 dance Ife, My Heart to express his gratitude to van Lee. Then approximately thirty Evidence alumni dancers, who secretly assembled from across the country, performed Brown's 1996 work To Harm the Dangerous to honor him. This completely surprised Brown and satisfied everyone in attendance.
