This is a basic Kutchi embroidery motif, native to Kutch, Gujarat. It is one of the many types of ethnic hand embroidery practiced by the various nomadic tribes of Kutch. I learned it from a school called Mridula's School of Embroidery (www.mridulas.com). They have long distance courses with clear instructions and I highly recommend it if you are interested in learning Indian ethnic embroidery

  • thank you so much for the video .i had a request that if you can upload another video for this kutch embroidery on any other fabric and with other thread this one is a little bit confusing as i am a new learner

  • @sarabatoolful- Thanks for your suggestion. I'll be uploading another motif soon, will keep your suggestions in mind. The basic principle behind the embroidery is the same, so I suppose explanation with a different motif should not be very difficult to apply to this one.
