The Balvenie's US ambassadors, Andrew & Nicholas, stumbled upon a rare occurrence during their visit to The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland - the vatting of batch three of Tun 1401. To create this special batch, Malt Master David Stewart hand selects 10 mature casks and manually pumps their contents into a Tun. Some of the casks that go into batch three date back to 1967 - a difficult year for the world, yet one that will yield one of the most precious expressions in the history of The Balvenie.

I have 2 bottles - 1 opened and 1 mostly full. It's terrific. I may just see if I can get another off a friend. Also, a friend is going to trade a Batch 3 for a Batch 2. I can't wait to see the difference.

The bottles are awesome. I own 4 and have consumed and tasted with one of them which is not sadly empty. These bottles are very hard to find these days and kinda expensive, but the value of it will continue to grow years to come. Currently I paid 200 dollars a bottle. The price is obviously increasing due to the limited amount of bottles made and how fast they are being consumed.
