@beepandbop What the NHTSA did NOT tell you was that the 1965 Pure Oil Trials (look it up) skidpad results showed the best speed was attained by the 1965 Chevy Corvette (with 15" wheels). Second place? The 1965 Corvair (with 13" wheels")!

Love seeing my model of car in it's early days. So beautiful.

if managment would have listened to the engeniers the early models would have had a sway bar on them and the models reputation would not have been destryed but they are not the only company to not listen to engenering ford did the same thing with the pinto comedian Ernie Kofaks dided in a Corvair station wagon if you check out some of the early models comercials you can see the wheels swing out

The only reason these cars were 'labeled' death traps was because of unskilled drivers. I was lucky enough to drive a '65 Corsa. The late model cars were a dream to drive. One had to be doing something very ignorant to roll a late model. Now, the early models, I have no experience with. And the horribly onesided "Unsafe at any Speed" was written about the old swing axles on the early Corvairs and the '67 and earlier VW Beetles.
I think the model/actress is Gunilla Knudsen, who was the sexy beauty who said "Take it off. Take it all off" in the famous Noxzema shaving cream commercials in the mid-'60s. What a doll.
