  • Hm, I had never considered thermoelectric heat pumps instead of the standard hassle of dry ice. How much power does the setup consume? I've always entertained the idea of a sustainable cloud chamber display adorning my desktop :P

  • @tfrostholm

    It requires 90W electrical power.

You can purchase it now on Ebay just search for cloud chamber at ebay international.

  • In the water cooling system used to cool the hot side of the peltier, what components did you use to disapate the heat from the water cooling system? was it a simple radiator and fan circuit?

  • @happykyle49 I dont disapate the heat from the water. This System uses only 5L per hour and therefore i let the "hot" water to flow in the drain.

  • wtf, 37kBq?

wo bekommst du diese sachen nur her? xD

  • @GxLKoJoTe 37kBq entsprechen 1µCi. Das sind Alpha- Strahler aus

normalen Rauchmeldern und sie fallen mit dieser Zerfallsrate auch noch

  • Thanks for posting this! I'm building my own cloud chamber for a science fair (with dry ice, though) and it's nice to have a visualization of what's going to show up & what exactly I need to create.

  • @Flachzange1337 Rauchmelder? In Rauchmeldern ist radioaktives Material drin? Ich muss mal Google fragen...

    Tatsächlich... Sind die Dinger teuer?

  • Why does that single particle trail at 1:45 have such a curved trajectory?

  • Is that a D3PR24 module or did you just cut the ground line from the sequence lining?

  • Sweet! This looks very cool! thank you for sharing
