As the owner of an interpreting company, there's no reason why police couldn't have provided an interpreter for her other than ignorance. I won't even go near the obvious miscommunication between dispatch & officers or how horrible it is that this even happened. But as someone who works in the interpreting industry, all I have to say were that the resources ARE there. We have many competitors in the Seattle-Tacoma area who would have loved to have helped. The police just didn't call.
