adam west wasn't fat, he was just average build, imagine if mike henry of 60's tarzan fame was batman, since he was originally cast as batman or he was wanted by the producers of batman, talk about being able to fill out that leotard batman costume! whew! lyle waggoner audition for the role but couldn't do the campy acting so he wasn't cast.

@sassypants318 I wish I could tell you - I watched that section about 8 times before finally giving up - the only word I could make out was something about a pit.

This is easily the most creative cliffhanger of the Adam West Batman series! A great poem as the Duo are caught, an ingenious deathtrap and a brilliant escape!

That's the first season for you. Great script by Francis and Marian Cockrell. They also did the Minstrel episode, and in both, you can sort of see a human side to the villains as they sympathize with their molls' sense of remorse of having to do away with the duo, not to mention the vilains' acknowledgement of Batman and Robin as more than worthy opponents.

@WayneGrayson I didn't realize they wrote the Minstrel episodes as well....BOTH (this and Van Johnson's character) both sang to Batman & Robin right at the trap scenes as well

@msk7046 Oh, yeah...I never thought about it or even noticed it. The Cockrells should have done more for this series. I'm going to re-do this clip this weekend. I hadn't watched the clip since I posted it, but I saw that it could look a lot better, and it will. I have better software and a better Bat box set these days, so I'm redoing it. My newest box set doesn't have that hideous FX logo in the corner and the color correction is better.
