I play amplified harmonica through several different digital effects, including octave shifting, delay, vibrato, chorus, etc. I forgot to shoot a close-up on the equipment, so here's a list:

RP200A Multi-Effects Processor
Shure Green Bullet Microphone (Reissue)
Electar Solid-State Guitar Amp
Hohner Golden Melody Harmonicas (A and E, self-customized)

  • i'm trying to incorporate my harp into a death metal band.

is there any ways to make my harmonica sound more electronic sounding?

  • @DeanHeuke jeah should work fine! enjoy!

  • so many possibillities with sound effect machines... i love it..

im playing with a lil shaker mic, goes into an effect foot pedal and into an Bogey amp. thats it. keeping it simple. haha

  • this is great !

    fuck the purists !

    keep pushing the envelope !

    cheers !

  • loop station rc-2 is fun as heck. get it and you become a one man band

I used the pandora pedal with my harp for years . So many pedals to choose from . I seen a pedal made for harmonica yesterday on you tube ,forget the name thou cool stuff Blues man mike in Hawaii

  • This is how John Popper plays(Blues Traveler) ... so does this here work:

    microphone->effect pedal->amp ? ... I want also to play like this ...

    thanks

  • well, you're right!

  • Thanks for a good vid, which gives a good clear demonstration of the gear you use.

  • No, I disagree.. I wanna hear new things! Creative things! This is the time for revolution in the world of harmonica, and that is not gonna happen if we just stay around in old Chicago tone all the time.. Been there, done that^^

  • too much delay, crap distortion, freaky sounds, unnecessary those effects, not a real blues tone, just plug it to a tube amp, and a bit of delay or reverb, much better, and you get the real chicago tone!!!
