This is the 16th portion of a long series documenting the second World War from a variety of angles. The German military returns home after a year at war with many conquests to their credit. The population, believing the war was now over, rejoiced. This was just the beginning, however, as Hitler's Nazi regime began the war against the people through propaganda and programming. Then came the announcement that Germany was planning an assault on the Soviet Union. The war was not over, it was just getting started. Germany 1940-1944.

  • I'm so sick of youtube mistaking 'The World at War' for CoD world at war...

  • All children should be forced to watch the entire World At War series in History class at school.

  • @creativeprojects720 Hitler broke away from an early incarnation of a global economy. Germany had people starving in the street

It is incumbent on all politicians to look after their country and people. Hitler and G W Bush have that in common

  • Just uploaded the first 9 parts in HD quality. Had to split them up in 4 parts each since the youtube 15 min HD limit. Click on my name if you wish and see the playlists... "The truth" the 100% truth...I do not think you will find it in any documentary, this also has minimal propaganda, but at least it tries to be as factual as it can for the times when it came out 1973-74. Compared to many other "documentary" films, this one, even after more than 30 years is still a treasure in my eyes.

  • @charms71 haha, yeah. I have heard that people said that someone financed hitler and stuff like that, but I think that's bullshit.

  • @alanbstard4 so there is some finance guy controlling everything that you do also? and he takes responsibility for your actions?

  • @alanbstard4 really! You must want to learn how to speak German

  • Carl Davis composed the theme music to World at War. He is also the genius who composed the themes for Up Pompeii! and BBC's Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth (best adaptation ever!)

  • @101Phase THANK YOU!! Totally agree!

  • @charms71 a totally unnecessary war

  • @alanbstard4 yup. watch the documentary again...slower this time pal.

  • @creativeprojects720 haha...you got him with that one but look at the ridiculous answer "international finance" lol
