I went to an NGO here in Makati City (Philippines), which takes care of homeless children. These children either lost their parents or just got separated from them. Some of these children are abandoned. Some are orphaned. Some are just homeless. Pianine, a French volunteer accompanied me to Virlanie homes such as MPCC, AIME, & Elizabeth.

"It is a non-government organization (NGO) reaching out to street children. It cares for children in need of special protection: abandoned, abused, exploited, neglected, orphaned, poor... Close to 200 staff and volunteers, supported by a network of donors and sponsors, touched the lives of 1,188 street children in 2010. Virlanie will do more in 2011. Founded by French social worker, Dominique Lemay, the non-profit foundation celebrated its 18th anniversary last year. Since its founding, Virlanie has helped 13,500 children become responsible and self-sufficient adults. - Virlanie Foundation"
