I remember watching this video on the "Let's Eat!" VHS, and I liked it. This was before we had the trouble with Veggie Monster.

During that sketch with Maria on healthy snacks, he didn't like healthy foods at first. But when she tempted him with one carrot stick--he proceeded to eat the carrot sticks, the cucumber spheres, the raisins, and the apples.

Or eating cookies 24/7, or even Molly from The Big Comfy Couch--eating donuts 24/7 (I've watched the show, and apparently, donuts are her favorite food)

I agree with Jbragwynne53 on this...heck, he learned the Healthy Food lesson and the "Cookies are a Sometimes food" lesson the hard way during that one sketch with Maria on healthy snacks (you know, carrot sticks, cucumber spheres, raisins, and apples).

The fact that this was made in '87 will hopefully get those annoying people who think that cookie monster is veggie monster to open their eyes and stop listening to the stupid rumors circulating.

Good point. Infact, people should have realized that this existed before that freaking rumor started (Pardon my french.)
The thing of it is though, if you've actually seen the 2005 sketch, Cookies are a Sometime Food, you see him eating fruits and veggies for about five seconds (which is enough torture already). Yet here, he doesn't take a bite out of any of the fruits and veggies. He just throws them around and uses them for aerobics XD

Cookie Monster was always about eating everything. Cookies, Fruits, vegetables... trucks, foam rubber letters, on one occasion he tried to eat Guy Smiley... I still believe the "Veggie Monster" rumor was made by Sesame Workshop for free publicity for the show.

True, but I don't think Sesame Workshop would be doing it just to get publicity. This whole thing was just blown out of proportion by today's blood-thirsty news press (Evil greedy bastards).
