We all need to evolve in any business to keep ourselves fresh and to explore new things. For me, evolution involves trying to consider newer things like better equipment and better video editing software. In this video, I address my concerns and what I'd like to do in an effort to try to stay fresh on YouTube while evolving in a positive direction. I've addressed cameras and editing software I'm considering if I decide to want to move my channel and videos to another level. One of my challenges, however, is my PC's status. Had I upgrading knowledge and money, I'd try out much better things. I may be limited on resources and money (most of the things I do are almost dirt cheap; making videos using what I have to the best of my ability. Have a look:

CAMERA CONSIDERATIONS:
* Sony DCR-SX40
* Sony MHSPM1 D/V
* Sanyo VPC-CG9
* Creative Vado VF0570
* Sony Webbie HD

EDITING CONSIDERATIONS (including demo videos I found; all may not work depending upon if they are still available.):

* SAMSUNG Cyberlink PowerDirector 6

* SONY Vegas 6

  • if u look at the 1st video of hotforwords, it was pretty unedited and just a camerma pointing at her. if you want to be more popular with youtube, you need to edit videos with effects. but one thing you need is better tags so more people can find your videos.

  • I have been looking at some of the videos for hotforwords lately. Besides the fact Marina is a hot Russian babe, here's what I've learned. What makes her great is that she finds a clever way (she's a YouTube Guru) to educate her audience in an entertaining way. Really good effects are going to require a better camera and better software, both of which, I don't have. I'm careful with tags because I want to be basic, but I also want RELEVANT "Related Videos." Thanks for the comments.

  • I think I've been on youtube longer then you have and I absolutely have nowhere near the amount of Friends and subscribers you have so you must be doing something right. If anything, you are getting fans without all the fancy editing software and such so I say until it starts getting stale, keep doing what you are doing. It hasn't done you any wrong yet.

  • Well, thanks a lot. I know there are websites and people that say that you can't make great videos using webcams. But with what I have and with what I've been able to do, I think I'm doing pretty well.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • You should check out a camcorder anyway. Ive never heard of a camcorder not working on a computer because of RAM. And for Editing try out Nero, its free.

  • Keep'em coming!!! I like your "All Meat, no Filler" approach to video's. I've made a few video's, none of which, with me in them. I've used my digital snapshot camera to make most of them. Edited with Window's Movie Maker. It just takes time to make the video how you want. Once you start messing with the editing software, you'll never look back.

  • Great listening to you bro.
