Oz Bach had nothing to do with this song..it was written and sung by Tom Grasso who founded the band with sax player Mike Edelman. ..but yes, it is very strange..has a big cult following..album cover by legendary rock photographer Barry Feinstein who just passed this week. The first rock video of all time was made of this band by Feinstein...

Who said Oz Bach had anything to do with this song? Oz was the bass player for Tarantula and he wrote 2 of the songs on the Tarantula album. Tom Grasso wrote Billy the Birdman. It is a great song. Oz and a lot of other people felt it should have been a hit!
