Testing some new camera mounts to get the picture away from the glider so as to give better perspective. This mounts is a horizontal standoff which positions the camera about 60cm in front of the wing centre-line. I aim to make a central camera position which will position the camera 20cm directly in front of the prop. This should give the illusion of the glider and camera being separate. • dude i love you for posting this video but i like to share some idea with you i dont know if you know this but hang gliding paragliderif and glider use a thermal its a heat, that rises, you dont even need that engine, but you all rc pilots are not there to experience it but when i buy mine im going to show you i cani fly with that rc of yours for the holle day with out using that prop

  • @Pml2DarkNight

Thanks, but to be frank, you've only watched a video of some fun flying. When you think you're up to it, go ahead and fly some F3J/F3B and Thermal Duration contests, see how you fair!

  • I love the perspective you have given this video! It's different than the normal under the wing shot that most all video are. good job no matter what the other remarks were.

I guess I have difficulty understanding why you would use a cart to launch from? With a powered sailplane why wouldn't you just handlaunch? You don't cart land do you? so why cart launch?

  • @Pml2DarkNight Why would you glide without using the prop when it is there? Just to show off? Thermal soaring is not what you do when you have motor power on board.

  • Also, good use of the little cart at the start, I've have not been too successful with my ground assist carts given the rough, mole infested runways I use. I just hand launch anymore

  • I like the perspective and the idea of doing loops and stuff rather than gliding on thermals for hours.

  • @Pml2DarkNight - First, you don't anything about me and my experience. Second, when you have reached a point in model sailplanes where you are flying a high performance model like in this video, you have learned quite a bit about thermals, ridge lift, weather conditions, competition soaring, etc. I really don't think the pilot is ignorant to the fact that he can circle in rising air. A video of him going in circles probably didn't appeal to him. He wanted to make it interesting.

  • @HansenWoodProducts - soaringusa carries them

  • @cfi2927087 yo let me tell you something soaring is different from thermal . you dont know what im talking about ok. how do you think that glider with out engine stay up there for the holle day. i just gave him an idea to learn how to use thermal via rc. but guess its not possible. and then you came saying things that you dont know -__- .
