@gdsdiana some autistic children can handle environments like that and may even enjoy the stimulation... not all autistic people are the same...

how can you be the parent of an autistic child and not know that this type of environment is sheer hell for an autistic child, it is absolute stimulus overload, the noise, the light, your nonstop words, are all just too much for the autistic brain to process, it cause loads of anxiety for an autistic child

I love these videos. i'm majoring in Psychology and seeing Jade grow has helped me find a better grasp on the evolution of the autism spectrum. I guess what i want to say here is, awesome videos and thank you!

Thanks for the response. My autistic son's dog, Zero, was his friend for 15 years. Zero was the one he whispered words to (Eli is non-verbal) His dog brought him out of an 8 month catatonic episode, his dog was 'the one to give comfort, happiness and laughter. Eli approached violent dogs in public-only to be greeted with licks as he petted them. The owners were shocked.

@carol3hawks actually, quiet animals are, like horses and dogs that look and act friendly (without barking to much) are the keys.
because they can not say anything back, we autistics feel we wont be judged, no matter what we say and the animals can make us forget theres someone else, making it even easierto talk.... and for parents/carers to latch on to our flow of thought, after which we realize what we can or cannot say... etc.

@EGarrett01 Jade already IS gifted, taught herself to read by 30 months old! She also has taught herself how to play a few songs on the piano. You should see Jade's other video, stacking blocks when she was 20 mos old- my little engineer :o)
She's also become quite the little adrenaline junkie!
It HAS been an adventure- one I would not trade for anything in the world!!!!
