The AutoLAWKs closes easily with one hand.

You don't need to hold the AutoLAWKs down while closing it, once you push the liner in, who cares?

    Why remove it?

    WTF?

It is indeed easy to close one handed and have since put it back in. You do have to hold it on the AutoLAWKs version though because of the spring in it. I have another crkt that is just plain ol LAWKS and it has no spring.

Well, once you push the liner in, the liner holds the AutoLAWKs closed.

With a bit of practice I can close it one handed very fast. I have the M16-14 and am very pleased with it so far.

I don't know if it's the same on the M21, but on my knife I

    1. Pull AutoLAWKs back

    2. Push in liner

    3. Release AutoLAWKs while holding liner

    4. "Use thumbstuds to flip blade closed

I stand corrected good sir. That is indeed how I do it also, I thought you meant to slide the AUTOLAWKS back, release it, push the liner in, then fold the blade in.

On a side note, does the bigger M21 G10 Folder have a chisel grind on the entire blade because of the Veff serations?

Excellent sir. My peeve with this fantastic knife is the how the Lawks technology is auto. I've been wanting to see inside to see if the spring could easily be removed, thank you sir.

SO easy to close, and no one has figured it out.

    1. Pull the AutoLAWKs back (with your middle finger!)

    2. Push the liner in

    3. Push blade closed with index (pointer) finger

By far the simplest way to one handed close the blade. It does not require you to move your fingers around too much at all.

Umm if your more concerned about how the auto lawns hinders how you close the knife instead of how it helps to keep it from closing then you are missing the point - unin tended pun intended. If anything remove the spring and keep the auto lawns in case you need it

Just received this knife today - ordered it from Walmart. Overall, I like it a lot although I must admit the Auto Lawks system is pretty irritating. I'm hoping I'll get used to it, as it was a primary attracting feature of this knife in the first place. Not that I'm particularly afraid of a liner lock fail, but on this knife the liner lock is actually quite thin compared with that of my current favorite, the Kershaw NRG2. I was surprised to see how thin and dinky the AL actually is. Great vid.

Anyone doing this with the big dawg version of the knife should note that the main difference in disassembly is there are 4 screws holding the two spacers, not two. Short screws come at the spacers from both sides of the grip. I like the tip about leaving the spring inside the knife. I recommend keeping the small parts in a dish or jar while working on your knife so you don't lose them.

You probably have already bought it but the serrations are chisel ground but the rest of the blade is regular grind.

I don't have the M21 but from the video I believe so.

On my M16 the blade sides are a slight hollow grind and the actual cutting edge is a chisel grind, including the serrations.

One thing I've found is that the serrations won't cut your hand as badly if you close the knife on your fingers. Silly me.
