There's been some pretty MAJOR wars since WWII as I'm sure you know...
Vietnam killed over 2 million.. Iraq has now killed over a million & there have been dozens of other wars in which millions have died from Africa to Asia.. Nukes haven't prevented wars they've just made the destruction of this planet the inevitable outcome of a 'major' war (as you put it)..
Of course ALL wars are 'major' to those on the receiving end of the bullets!
