WHAT IS MAKIN THE CHOIR?

MAKIN THE CHOIR is Americas biggest gospel music experience to date. Hundreds of thousands will have a chance to showcase their vocal and instrumental skills during this national talent search for the best sopranos, altos, tenors, drummers, organists, pianists and guitarists in the country. Contestants will battle it out to be one of the 30 vocalists and 10 musicians chosen to be flown to New York, record a live gospel album and tour across the county and the world as a united gospel choir. Many young aspiring vocalists and musicians will audition but do they have what it takes to become part of Americas Gospel Choir? Stay tuned.

WHO IS "MAKIN THE CHOIR"?

Bishop James Gaines


Bishop James Gaines was born in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Rev. Dr. John and Mrs. Dorothy Gaines. He was raised in a Baptist church, but escaped the limitations of tradition to widen his spiritual parameters to reach people of varied backgrounds.
In 1992 Rev. Gaines began fulfilling his call to the ministry with an overwhelming number of young people giving their lives to Christ. He was then ordained as a Reverend and installed as Pastor of El-Bethel Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ currently New Destination Worship Center where he shepherds a flock of over 500 people. Rev. Gaines was later consecrated as Bishop and presently serves in the office of Bishop Prelate of New Destination Worship Center.
In additional, Bishop Gaines formed the group DEVOTED later becoming a recording artist on Savoy/Malaco Records. Devoted shared the stage with notorious artists such as The Mississippi Mass Choir, Georgia Mass Choir, The Gospel Keynotes , Kirk Franklin and a plethora of others.
Bishop Gaines also found and organized PG & Love an inspirational ensemble with a vision to develop a harmonic blend and create a unique sound utilizing a wide-ranged age group and diverse genres. PG & Love sojourned to cities and states around the globe inspiring, encouraging and motivating through music.
Bishop Gaines recorded with City High on Interscope Records, performed on BETs longest aired Gospel show Bobby Jones Gospel Show ; World Aids Day with former United Kingdom President Al-Khalifa, Good Morning America, Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting with Sarah McLachlan, Conan OBrien Show, toured with Hanson , Global Warming Live Earth with Roger Waters /Pink Floyd hosted by former President Al Gore and VH1 Save the Music Gala @ Lincoln Center with Bon Jovi.
Bishop Gaines is ecstatic about his most recent creation Makin the Choir where he will tour various states across the country in search of exceptional vocalists and musicians to form AMERICAS GOSPEL CHOIR . In addition, Bishop Gaines and his crew are embarking on a phenomenal reality show that will sweep the reality show industry. Stay Connected.

I would be perfect for this show because I can sing #1 I have what it takes as I have been in church all my life so I know the cherch scene,and I love the Lord and this is the call of God on my life.
