  • Did the aircraft use much reverse thrust on landing?

  • Surprisingly, NO!!

  • Did it actually turn of at 'Delta' ? Thought that wasn't allowed. Anyway, looks really good and hope it's a good gamble by BA!

  • It did turn off at Delta, as this is the only place it is allowed to leave the runway. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie are off limits because of the wingspan of the 318.

  • No. It came in from Manston, Kent. It made an approach to LCY earlier in the day, but was not authorised to land until the tug-to-aircraft pin arrived at LCY from LGW.

  • yes it did use reverse thrusters

Not true. Due to the short runway at LCY it canot take off with full fuel so needs to refuel at Shannon. This also cuts travelling time cos of full CBP pre-clearance at Shannon so it enters the US as a domestic flight.

  • Looks like the pilots had the Autobrake set on max!

  • @Cactus732 It makes a stopover on its way to JFK, due to the runway limitations at LCY

  • @Cactus732 the factiors which affect it are that the A318 can hold enough fuel for the trip but due to the runway length it cant make it. so therefore i was wrong im sorry, but they make the stop to shannon to refuel and/or pass american border clearance early on the reurn flight it is direct

  • @helenaZZZZirlandaise probably also true but in any case the A318 cannot make the flight direct against the jetstream even if it could take full fuel because regulations would require almost 9 hours of fuel for that sector

  • @joshuan542 obviously it isn't because they schedule a stop, some days winds are stronger and flights make unscheduled stops but stops only get shceduled when the destination is outside an aircrafts range

  • @Cactus732 no i assure you the A318 is in JFK range

  • @1969Mackem yes it did you can just see

  • @TheLn14

    Not so. .
