Custom Powder Coating -- Rainbow Metallic in Action

This is my first ever in-shop video detailing a fantastic rainbow metallic powder called Starburst Orange shot over Ink Black. Still photos do the color no justice but the video sure does!

Hi, Very nice job. I am looking at doing my own powder coat on my motorcycle tins. My question is did you spray the ink black and then bake it fully, and while it was still warm apply the metallic clear and then bake again, or did you let the black cool and then spray the metallic. Also how did it turn out as far as orange peel, I couldnt tell from the video. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words! Please understand I'm not willing to reveal any privileged trade secrets ... there are very few powder coaters who attempt to undertake the kind of work I do around here (and I like it that way LOL). Orange peel is almost inherent in powder coating work but you can learn how to eliminate it for the most part -- just keep an eye on your humidity levels and mil thickness. I do appreciate you checking out my work though!

Pete, the Starburst Orange is basically a clear with all that metal flake in it.  It can be shot on top of any color basecoat you wish.
