One of the better TV movies made in the '70s. The special effects and makeup aren't bad given the year and low budget. The acting isn't terrible...just bad enough for a TV horror movie. Interesting story and premise. And Bernie Casey does an excellant job as "The Gargoyle." If you see this airing on cable or in the "cheap DVDs" its DEFINATELY worth watching!

yeah it was awesome!!I actually went on ebay & found the dvd !!Had to get it!! I actually found the head gargoyle as a model kit @ a horror convention.I got ripped off for 100 bux but i had to buy it!!I painted it with mad skillz!! It came out awesome!! rock on xraycat !!
thats kool I love all that shit as well!! I would purchase the gargantuas my damn self. That 1 scared me as a kid as well.I think the music has so much to do with it.I saw it again last year & thought this aint the 1 i saw as a kid!!It was a lil cheesy..
Well what it is, is that you were little at the time and it was truly scary to you because you weren't sure if they were real or not, perception vs. reality.
Same happened with me when I first saw "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark"-it did just THAT, made you afraid of the dark (esp. if you were little.)
I think time corrects the issue and makes us all realize that these moves are now totally tame compared to today's movies, but STILL highly entertaining if not scary! :-)
haa yeah that was one of my favorite parts as well. The spooky music intrigues me as well.I like it alot!!It must be fun for the musicians in the orchestra to jam them out as well!! I love it!! Rock on shawnster!!You wouldnt by any chance enjoy heavy metal would you? The 2 seem to go hand & hand.Matter of fact when i was 7 I heard black sabbath & it planted A seed in my heart!!!Die hard metal fan 4 life!!!
I grew up in the mid 70's ( I was 15 in 1979) and I cut my teeth on the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) including bands like Raven, early Maiden with Paul Di Anno, and it led to the 80's stuff like Metallica, Anthrax, ect.
So yeah I'm an old metalhead, for sure. Seen LOADS of bands at the old Allentown fairgrounds and Fieldhouse in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Fun days, man!
thats great!! I've seen metallica @ the allentown fairgrounds!! The only band I would travel that far for.I'm in staten island,ny.I was 8 in 79 by the way but i got an early start on the heavy music.I heard ironman in 79 & was like; WHAT WAS THAT?? I live for heavy music, horror, art, it's my life in a nutshell!!

I went to XPlus USa and found out they were worth around 200 EACH! Nice savings :-)
It's a nice setup-the bases come together to form a diorama from the second Godzilla film, "Godzilla Raids Again."
What I really want are the Japanese Frankenstein and The Gargantuas from their respective movies Toho made in the 60's.
FCTW is the sequel to WOTG.

that, my man (or woman) lol
I remember that I was more fascinated
by this one than I was scared (although there were other movies that scared me back in the day.)
That last scene as the Gargoyle chief flies away, with that oh-so-eerie 70's music playing in the background..that really brings it back for me.
The music they had for these movies was really spooky looking back on it.
