Prescott, Arizona is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) backdrops for fastpitch softball in the entire world. The ghosts of the past were clearly heard at the ball fields this weekend, even after many years gone by. Memories of Jerry Wells, Jim Sperry, Jay Bob Bickford, along with dozens of others, were absolutely crystal clear in the minds of those fortunate enough to have grown up in this special town. Pretty cool stuff for sure, but I digress ...
Our 16A Colorado Stars team showed well in their first out-of-state tournament this year by taking home a 4th place finish against a very high quality field of competition. Going 3-2 (4-2 if counting the forfeit the team received in their 3rd game), this group continues to grow with each and every game. Hustle, endurance, spirit, and above all, TEAMwork - will most certainly set this special TEAM apart from others.
Fastpitch softball rules.
Next tournament is the Colorado ASA State Tournament in Aurora next week. Go Stars!
