XCD interviews Knock, Knock!

Knock Knock is the culmination of Jen Bilik's life long dream to combine her love of words with her love of all things visual. Bilik started off working in publishing at Rizzoli, producing coffee table books on art, design and architecture. Having an equal hand in editorial work and production, she received an invaluable education in proofreading, copy editing, printing, binding and graphic design. While pursuing a freelance career in editing and writing, Bilik began writing and designing in her own time, creating posters, invitations, cards and handmade books, to which people invariably responded, "You should sell that." After experiencing unprecedented procrastination levels while creating a book of her own, she began producing everything except her book.

In 2002 Bilik shelved her book and opened Knock Knock, a creative studio after her own heart. One where there are no clients, just fully realised products that live or die according to the marketplace.
