Shell promised that gas flaring would end in Nigeria in 2008, but went back on its word. Flaring causes cancer, leukemia, and other diseases, as well as destroying the local habitat and contributing to climate change.
Shell want to install a gas refinery and production pipeline onshore in Mayo in Ireland, but despite support from the government, the people are resisting.
