  • Now, THAT's a snare drummer!

  • Awesome! The "colored" company is singing! One thing reenactors I dont think think about is that the troops sang all the time and so it's appropriate for them to be singing as they march.

  • While God Is Marching On!!!

  • I was there with my friends and my one friends parents! I even saw us in this video! cool...

  • your right, actually for in agrument to what it "would have been" yes the rank of Major and up would be on horse back, and at times captain depending on how many line officers where present. But this isnt't then, it is now. They did a most stupendous job. I hope to be there amost them next year. The holy land of civil war reenacting, gettysburg. My hat is off to you and all who participated, from myself and the rest of 6th Indiana Volutuneer Infantry Company A. Hoosah!!!

  • The bands did a fine job. First rate.

My only criticism is that I think it's a bit unauthentic for officers above company rank to not be mounted. The sight of a brigadier schlepping like an infantry private is pretty sad.If you slap on the straps you should at least be able to ride a mount on parade.

That aside, this is a very fitting tribute.

  • I'm playing in the first band right there, the 28th Pennsylvania. The trumpet in the right file behind the alto horn. I still think the civil war band music is my favorite stuff. And this coming from a modern military band player as well as a british brass bander too. Join a Civil War Band! Keep the tradition alive!

  • Boy, it was mighty quiet down at your end. At where I was at the corner of Taneytown and Steinwehr, we were cheering and screaming!
