I heard the Falklands War between Argentina and Great Britain meant that he felt uneasy driving for a British team in F1. I bet people asked him a lot of questions back home where his loyalties were.
Had he stayed in Williams in 1982 I bet Williams would have won the constructors' title too that year. Derek Daly wasn't much of match to Rosberg.
At least Reutemann is alive unlike Peterson, Gilles Villeneuve and other greats who could have been champions.

@McLarenMercedes very unlucky lole, in 1982 he retired after only two races, and his teammate rosberg became champion... what a shame!

not to mention Reutemann was on pole in the last 1981 race but unfortunate gearbox trouble meant he finished 7'th, when his team mate Alan Jones cruised to an easy win in the same car. Piquet got 5'th and took the title by a single point.
Before that Reutemann had led the points for 14 races in the 1981 season. Was that fair?
Reutemann was indeed the real F1 champion in 1981.

because of the war between FISA and FOCA, kyalami gp 1981, won by lole with piquet 2nd, was declared not valid for the championship, and so lole lost 3 precious points on piquet... carlos reutemann real F1 world champion 1981!!

de los mejores pilotos q existieron, el lolo es un groso mal,y sin duda, el mejor piloto q no gano un titulo de f1 (pero porq se lo cagaron)

La puta, que buena que era la primer curva del Viejo interlagos. Con esa curva deberían conmemorar a Senna, no con la garcha que hay ahora.
