  • Hey, try mixing your fertilizer into the soil that you are back filling the pot with. This will lessen the chance of damage due to salt build up and feed the new roots more evenly as they spread.

  • @SunFireFarm I guess if I was having some sort of problems with my propagation I would consider your advice.

  • Bill, i live in fremont too. mind showing me how you grow these bananas?

  • @tranbaby2 There isn't a lot to show. Planting the right variety in a suitable location is most of it. Using the live link on the videos for my website at greengardenservice will give you my contact information. You are welcome to call and check things out. I do have plants for the variety I am growing.

  • Thanks Bill I have just begun to look after a property in Brazil and was wanting to plant more bananas using the ones already here as parent plants but was not sure how to go about it.

  • Excellent information which answered all my questions. Thank you for taking the time to post this information.

  • I am happy that you enjoyed the video. I understand the climatic limitations. I was born in Evanston Ill. and had a lot of family in NW Indiana. It is an outstanding place to live but not good for bananas. Fremont, CA is not generally know for bananas either but after growing them in Hawaii I decided to try them in the Bay Area and succeeded.

  • Thank Bill for the video.

I wish I could grow those here in N.W. Indiana. I can grow cold hardy banana but, it sure would be nice to have banana you can eat:-)
