Gaelend reads a letter he sent out to people in which he gives his background in the cult and asks for support.

For 35 years, Rama Behera has led his group from the small town of Shawano, Wisconsin. Members travel from neighboring states to take part in this group which goes by the official name of Followers of the Lord Jesus. Rama's group embraces parts of Christianity and Judaism while rejecting traditional western organized Christianity.

Former members tell shocking stories of abuse of children and adults. Former Rama followers, Elina Lane and Gaeland Priebe spoke at the Leo J. Ryan Education Foundation Conference in October of 2001 and sat down to share their experiences with me.

The manner in which SIST operates their businesses is very similar to how scientology operates. They fail to pay their property taxes, they fail to pay contractors, and they fail to pay their suppliers. Then they cry persecution as soon as they are held accountable.

I have friends that live in Shawano just a few miles from their compound, and they confirm that the group is nuts. Much like scientology, the Rama gets slave labor from the members at his various businesses in the area. Businesses that were purchased after members turned over their lifesavings to the Rama.

What Mr. Priebe says is corroborated by her. Are they in cohoots to harm Rama?

The physical abuse is worse than $cientology's or any cult, etc., that I know of. It's what she says, torture and torment. This is most definitely worse than $cientology. It's child abuse and human torture. It's sickening and beyond comprehesion and/or belief. It's nauseating and inhuman.

Hey, have you heard about the recent allegations of murder for hire against members of SIST?

They were interested in putting out a contract against the town's mayor and other members the local gov't. The whole thing is under FBI investigation.

Maybe you weren't part of the obviously criminal elements that seemingly run the cult.

And btw, what you're doing to Mr. Priebe is called DEAD AGENTING in $cientology. And those doing it always claim not to be $cientologists. ;)

Look they are no different than some of the amish groups, Mennonites, or any other small group of people beling in a common trust in G-D. The stories I hear from a Rick Ross, a guy looking to make money off of cults and a convicted criminal both in burglary and embezzlement , founded an organization out to exploit and destroy groups like this. Anyway I doubt many on here will care or even listen to anything I have to say. In the court of public opinion SIST is guilty regardless of innocence.

I think I must repeat I am not a member of SIST that is important that I repeat that as I am not some mindless drone just defending them. Did you know that there are only about 70 members of this group but Shawno acts like they are some massive militant force ready to take over the world. These people are just hardcore believers who chose to worship together in a common belief. These are not Jonestown poison koolaid drinking whack jobs like some would like to believe.

Anyway as some body who once was on the inside and was sadly related to Gaeland Priebe via marriage... I can tell you what I know and what I saw. 1st) Gaeland raped his daughter Ashen from and early age and for many years. He is trying to blame SIST for his truly heinous crime. You really want to take a convicted rapists word over others? I can tell you in the 10+ years I went to this**I'll admit strange group** I never once saw anything illegal or unethical.

1st I know that what they do seems strange because they do not shop at the GAP etc like the rest of us. I am a person who used to go as a kid but stopped because I am not really into any form of organized religion... though I do pray to G-D and have faith in Good. I have sort of ignored these sites and people for years thinking as just a past happening but I can not ignore anymore the evil that is being done to SIST. Hey I am not into Scientologist, LDS, Jovah Witness and other groups but...

Bless You, Mark, for doing this! It is so important for people to start speaking out about cult abuse. not only in the cult of scientology, but, all the heinous cults we have here in america. The "spiritual seeking" subculture that started in the 60's-70's sprouted thousands of abusive doctrines and many of us were Born and Raised in them. In the latest issue of ICSA's newsletter they speak about cult identity and how that manifests and why. (International Cultic Studies Association)
