@TheWhiterose1603 Australia didn't go bankrupted because Kevin Rudd actually pulled a pretty good money spending scheme(Surprisingly) The queen does fuck all but shake peoples hands. She doesnt even have the power to take control anymore. Long gone the time is when monarchies had power, democracy is everything these days. And maybe communism.

I was replying to WhiteRose who came up with some hare-brained assertion that Australia would be afforded something called "oath of protection" from the UK and other Commonwealth countries if threatened. I merely pointed out that in WW2 the US at least turned up (even if it was just to hide in Melbourne, as you erroneously claim). The UK certainly didn't. So lucky we had you covering our arse hey? We'd be eating with chopsticks otherwise.

@TheWhiterose1603 It was the US and not Great Britain who came to our aid in WW2 when we were under threat from Japan. Having said that, and in all fairness, GB had their hands full in saving their own arse at the time.
