No Use???????? UHH well try hunting, fishing, sailing, paraglyding, hiking, walking in the woods, cross country skiing, snow mobilling, off roading, 4x4, rat racing, dune buggies and more. Appvee this phone app rivals most GPS units and it is easier to use, has more functionality. and its on a phone. Super cool MotionX guys. I love it. This thing and the other apps on my iphone makes its just like Star Trek's communicator.

this is a sick app.. best for joggers, mountain bikers, like me, who love to keep track of their outdoor sports... and if i go with friends its awesome to put the treck up on Facebook for them to see

This app uses satellites -- not necessary to have cell coverage. It's not for finding a Starbucks --> use MotionX GPS Drive for that sort of thing. I use this app for paragliding X-Country, sailing navigation, wilderness hiking, etc.

This review is poor.
Firstly, GPS DOES have global coverage (the G stands for 'Global!'). You will pretty well always get a good signal where you can see open sky.
Secondly, with Google maps you have a problem getting the map if you're away from a GSM/data signal. MotionX can cache open source maps, so you can then use it offline - still good away from data.
I bought this app to use it when I travel internationally. Works fine with cached maps, so I don't need expensive data roaming.
