Kate, you are a gift from God. Listening to the audiobook is even better that reading the book, because you get the extra comfort of Kate's voice. This is a very healing book for those of us, like Kate, who have suffered a unexpected, sudden loss.
I am enjoying the book and it has given me a desire to visit Maine. I do wish that Kate has spent more time talking about why she and her late husband became Unitarian Universalists. The spiritual underpinnings of her actions would be of interest to me.
Kath Braestrup's memoir is a wonderful book, full of hope and solace. One of the best books I've read about life and death, about grief, and one of my favorite memoirs. I read it 3 times. If you want to read my essay about the book google "waxler braestrup" -
The book is better than the trailer. I understand why a video about death needs to be somber and downbeat. The book is neither of those things. It's full of exuberance and the power of hope.
Kate - I love your book. I think you are a genius of the most important kind. Thank you for your generous spirit and your willingness to go on with such brave and luminous HOPE in this world. Thank you, thank you.
your book fucking sucks i hate you just because a book makes you said does not mean that your a fucking genious author put your fucking book on sparknotes so i dont ahve to fucking finish it forschool you fucking skank i hate you no one cares about your shit
I CARE ABOUT YOUR SHIT, KATE! I CARE! what is the matter with you, tyler45? it's not kate's fault that you have to read that book for school. if you didn't enjoy the book that is your opinion and you don't have to be a douche and attack this woman who is trying to enlighten people through sharing her experiences. she's just talking about her life, man! COME ON! What is your problem? you are so ignorant! how old are you?
ou can express your opinions in a civilized way. and why don't you keep it to yourself instead of trying to hurt people with your words! AND YOU KNOW WHAT?! why is it on the new york times best seller list if no one cares about it! YEAH! way to go, BIOTCH.
I was very moved by your book and your explanation of God. Your book has helped me to gain a better understanding of human relations. While driving home tonight, I noticed a guy trying to balance himself while hanging on to a sign post. As I took a closer look, I realized he was extremely drunk and very incoherent. I helped him get back to his hotel room. As I left the hotel, I was taken over by a undescribable, wonderful feeling. Thanks for writing the book and introducing me to helping others.
