  • that would be the smoke ahahah not the clutch

  • i have an 08 335i, what stage tune do you have and was it worth it? big difference or what?

  • hey bro any problems with the HPFP?

  • @JSlShow yes it's too close to the M3 agreed. I'm not sure why i posted that about limiting at 5500? I've got one and i new that lol must have been talking to someone or something lol

  • @kay19833 With all the points I've made about short gear, smaller turbo for spooling, improved mivec, etc... it was made for short circuit tracks, auto-x, and rally races. But with the right mods, they can become a good drag car.

And it may seem like I'm exaggerating or being a fanboy by saying the Evo X out handled high end cars. But look it up.

BMW on the other hand, has always been aiming for mild-long circuit racing, and was not intended for Rally. So they have their advantage in gearing.

  • @kay19833 Hopefully this will answer a bit of your question. Instead of "Oh yeah, 335i is a pos" + others going "Oh yeah, Evo's a toy car" etc etc..

JB3 is no doubt a serious mod, it'll beat the E92 M3, the BMW Icon.

But the Evo X was built with a smaller turbo than both 8 + 9's, for responsiveness.. runs extremely rich to preserve motor.. MIVEC is definitely improved, for turbo efficiency.. and gear ratios are short.. also pulls 1.1g on turns. Meaning outhandled the R35 GT-R, F430, n' Gallardo

  • @kay19833 Difference is, a stock Evo X that's been retuned can make over 300whp on a dynojet. Only reason why Mitsubishi engineers tuned the Evo X to run extra rich, which causes reduction in knocking and helps support the motor/turbo, but limited the power to 280-290 to the crank is 'cause of the "Gentlemen's Agreement" that Japanese motorist made.

You could clearly see that the Evo X was having massive backfire from the stock tune + incorrect timing from the mods. Good tune wil gain it 20whp+

  • Btw, the Evo X was clearly untuned, since the stock tune itself runs really rich.. but with the single exit exhaust, it's shooting flames from it being TOO rich with the incorrect timing. Btw with a retune on complete stock parts, they do have the capability to make 300+whp on a dynojet. The other thing, the stock clutch on the Evo X is really bad, for some reason.. Mitsubishi thought it'd be a wonderful idea to make them out of apple sauce.

  • @Heath3250 He's talking about 2-step launch, which allows the revs to bounce off of 5,500rpm. Since we depend on the power of the turbo spooling along with it being an AWD, it requires a little more "umph." Btw, the JB3 mod on a 335i beat the BMW E92 M3.

Honestly, I think BMW kind of screwed up by making the 335i,NOT SAYING IT'S A BAD CAR.. but since it's destroying it's icon the M3 with just a couple thousand dollars, it's like.. "wtf?"

  • somebody's burning clutch like WHOA
