@dodgyplonk Well maggots are perfectly safe to eat and let's not discuss where they live.
Where something grows isn't a reliable indicator of how safe it is to eat. There are loads of animals living in much better conditions that would kill us if we ate them.
And if you eat what you catch, that's great, more power to you says I. But some reasoning when people want to eat something seemingly disgusting. Basa are Australia's most popular fish, Australians aren't dying or getting ill from it.

@ihaterobbie123 Actually i live on the coast in western australia and eat fish caught myself. AND we throw catfish back. I just happened to come across a story on T.V. about the basa catfish which got me looking for more info out of curiosity.
Didn't really like what i found out. But if you enjoy this fish go ahead and eat it. I just wouldnt eat anything i caught in a pond that has human shit floating amongst it. Or would I ?? =P

@dodgyplonk Yet they are superior to American catfish and are much cheaper. They aren't fed antibiotics, that's propaganda the US catfish industry push to try and get people to avoid it.
Oh and if you think fish grown in sewage are unsafe then vegetables grown in manure-enriched soil are also unsafe.
Keep eating American catfish if you want to, enjoy your high mercury intake, enjoy the hole in your wallet, enjoy corporate domination and, most of all, enjoy the worse taste.

Basa = veitnamese catfish grown in cages under house boats on the mekong delta, one of the worlds most poluted water ways, they have to feed the fish antibiotics because they die too fast, these fish are grown in sewage.. read about it.

Everything looked yummy, as usual.
UNSOLICITED ADVICE: T, never use metal utensils such as forks or spoons on your good cookware. It will scratch the surface, and though it may not remove the coating, it will make them ugly. (Please forgive me for prying.)
Love your cooking videos girl!
