The heavy snow icon is very similar to the snow icon. The only difference is the heavy snow seems to be moving faster.

I live along the jersey coast and and our last 3 winters have been mild. I miss big snowstorms. :(

Places like Chardon Ohio get pummelled by Lake effect! Also, Crawford, Southern Erie, Venango, and Warren get pounded by lake effect!
I am in Pittsburgh and only see a light dusting to an inch but when conditions are just right, Pittsburgh can see several inches!

That is lake effect snow as it is scattered and coming from the northwest.

Thanks for that video. I'm surprised that Pittsburgh is not on your eight-city observation list. I thought it would be on there considering you live in the Pittsburgh area.

I think the reason Pittsburgh isn't on my local obs list is because it's my main ob. site. ON most IS's with HiRAD, the main HiRAD site isn't listed on the 8 city list. :)
