The parts of this interview that were cut for the televised version have been slightly dimmed so you can easily see what was taken out and what was left in.

  • ok i watch this interview but how did this person get the UNCUT version and know when to cut it accordingly?

  • @flogdolphin: I found both versions on YouTube (they're probably both still up). Then I spent several hours editing the uncut version while watching the other one. I don't think it's Fox's policy to release this stuff; maybe Jon Stewart made it a condition of going on the show...?

  • Excellent analysis device, using the darkened screens for the stuff FOX chopped out. Much more poignant than any written critique.

  • Chris Wallace's stupid smirk throughout this interview is irritating. Stewart was kicking their asses and they cut out some of the best arguments he was making. And what the hell? Comparing FOX (and other news networks) to Comedy Central? Really? As Jon keeps saying..he is a comedian!!! He is not a journalist! Fox is just using him to get more publicity b/c they know that Stewart is popular. Argh! It just irritates me!

  • I just want to say that it's incredible what you did. This must have been a bitch to edit, but it's really really interesting to see the edits that FOX made. Great job!

  • later: That is so uncool. They cut out his main point. But what else could I expect from Fox News?

  • I wish I could see the full interview. Stewart isn't nearly as sharp as he is on his own show, and this is an easy topic for him - to say the least.

  • jon was getting pissed!!

  • Wallace is soooooo transparent here and Stewart just destroys him completely. It's pathetic really.

  • That was a stupid argument about the network. There is a reason it's called comedy central; it provides comedy. While fox news is suppose to provide legit news and it doesn't.

  • Clever idea about the darkened scenes, conveys useful info in the speed of light.

On JS comments on why there is senstionalism, i think hes wrong, he argues there isnt enough happening to cover a usual 24 hour period. Oh well, there are tons of topics people could investigate.Imagine how much humanity dont know, there are plenty of airtime to devote to that project. You have to investigate what makes a news organisation to get some idea why it operates like it does - capitalistic intent

  • Chris admitting, basically, that his network does have a convervative bias. If the mainstream media has a liberal bias, and conservative media is the counter to that, then it has a conservative bias - why did he try to deny that? You can't call yourself fair and balanced if you have a reactionary partisan bias

  • @flogdolphin Watch the part from 5:10 to 5:50. Jon is in the business of satirizing the news, and the easy targets are the people doing stupid shit. He can't help it if the far right are the ones providing all of that material.
